FESTIVAL DE ROCK - MONKEES

Os Monkees surgiram como uma resposta da TV americana para os Beatles, não o conjunto em si, mas como eles se apresentavam para a mídia, especialmente nos filmes dirigidos por Richard Lester. O programa buscava, sem sucesso, imitar a montagem de A Hard’s Day Night e Help, bem como o surrealismo de Lester. E o resultado era a impressão de um grupo fabricado, sem talento, que não se apresentava em público porque na verdade apenas dublavam outros cantores. Mas aos poucos esta falsa idéia foi se apagando. Afinal, eles não eram totalmente sem graça, cantavam direitinho e as músicas tinham até o seu valor. Os dois Neils, o Sedaka e o Diamond, compunham para eles... Nada como o tempo para fazer justiça com os Monkees. David Jones, Peter Tork, Mike Dolenz e Mike Nesmith mostraram o seu talento em delícias como A Little Bit You A Little Bit Me, When Love Comes Knocking At Your Door, I’m A Believer, Daydream Believer e a música postada, Valleri, com um belo solo espanholado. The Monkees were released as an answer by the American TV to the Beatles, not the group per se, but the way the media showed them, especially in films directed by Richard Lester. The TV program tried, but never got, to imitate the editing of A Hard’s Day Night and Help, as well as Lester’s surrealism. And the drawback was the impression of a makeshift group, no talent, that couldn’t sing in public because they only dubbed other singers’ voices. But this false concept was slowly fading. After all, they were not totally lacking humor, sang in tune and the songs even had some worth. The two Neils, Sedaka and Diamond, even wrote to them... Time finally made justice to the Monkees. David Jones, Peter Tork, Mike Dolenz and Mike Nesmith displayed their talent in delights such as A Little Bit You A Little Bit Me, When Love Comes Knocking At Your Door, I’m A Believer, Daydream Believer and the posted song, Valleri, with a beautiful Spanish solo.
