Pink Anderson e Floyd Council, astros do blues cederam seus nomes para batizar a banda mais radical da História do rock, Pink Floyd. A admiração do seu fundador, Syd Barrett por aqueles artistas só seria suplantada (e como) pelos estupefatos fãs do PF. Podemos dizer que a continuidade da música moderna até a contemporânea se deu pelas mãos do rock progressivo, em que o Pink Floyd se destaca com brilho. Seu sucesso mais notório foi o álbum temático The Wall, acompanhado de uma animação que nos lembra os clássicos Metropolis e Tempos Modernos, referência paralela com o Muro de Berlim. Não foi surpresa que a banda estrelasse um show no local, quando o muro foi demolido. Mas foi o Dark Side of the Moon que se manteve dez anos na parada de sucessos do Reino Unido.
