O Shocking Blue liderou a Invasão Holandesa de 1967 com o hit Venus. Infelizmente foi a única banda dos Países Baixos a participar. Com aqueles nomes de vogais dobradas, foi formada por Robbie Van Leeuwen, Cor Van Beek, Klaassje Van Der Val, Mariska Veres e Fred de Wilde. Além de Venus, as músicas Mighty Joe, Never Marry a Railroad Man, Hello Darkness, Shocking You, Long and Lonesome Road, Send Me a Postcard, Blossom Lady, Out of Sight, Out of Mind e Inkpot fizeram algum sucesso fora do Brasil.
The Shocking Blue commanded the 1967 Dutch Invasion with the hit Venus. Unfortunately it was the only band from Holland to make it.
