Este é o grupo vovô dentro deste Festival. Seu estilo, de 1946, está entre as Andrews Sisters e o rock, tendo sido rapidamente adotado entre os primeiros roqueiros por causa do humor a canção Lollipop, com o estalo POP! feito com o dedo na bochecha. O filme clássico Stand By Me não esqueceu a gracinha: os garotos aventureiros fazem o estalo enquanto andam pela estrada. Mas o primeiro sucesso das Chordettes foi Mister Sandman, também interpretado pelos Four Aces. Jinny Osborn, Nancy Overton, Lynn Evans e Carol Buschmann foi a mais popular das formações do conjunto, que nos anos 50 aderiu ao rock branco (bem comportado, como Lonely Boy e Pink Shoelaces).
This is the grandpa group in this Festival. Their style, from 1946, is between the Andrews Sisters and rock, soon to be adopted by the firt rockers because of the humorous gag of the song Lollipop, with the snapping POP! done by the finger in the cheek. The classic film Stand By Me didn’t forget the gag: the adventurous kids did the famous snap as they were walking through the road. But the first hits of the Chordettes happened to be Mister Sandman, also sung by the Four Aces. Jinny Osborn, Nancy Overton, Lynn Evans and Carol Buschmann was the most popular formation of the Chordettes, which in the 50’s embraced the white rock (well groomed, like Lonely Boy and Pink Shoelaces).
