Sempre aconteceu um fenômeno estranho quando eu ouvia o nome do conjunto The Five Satins. Parecia que eles não eram mais um grupo cantando baladas. Talvez seja por causa do título do seu grande sucesso, In The Still Of The Night, homônimo de um grande standard da música americana. De qualquer maneira, talvez por causa disto, eles gravaram um cover maravilhoso de I’ll Be Seeing You, emplacando novo sucesso. Fred Parris, Lou Peebles, Stanley Dortch, Ed Martin e Jim Freeman começaram bem cedo, em 1954. Parris e Freeman ainda se apresentam com outros três substitutos. Eles apareceram num revival, Let The Good Times Roll em 1973, e seu grande hit entrou na trilha de Dirty Dancing (1987).
