Depois do sucesso das Marvelettes, a Motown lançou outro grupo de garotas, que já tinham tentado a sorte e falhado, com o nome de Del-Phis. Mas o que é um nome? Talvez apenas Shakespeare saiba esta resposta. A voz poderosa de Martha Reeves finalmente acertou com o clássico Dancing In The Street, que logo seria regravado pelos Mamas and Papas. Depois que deixaram a Motown, elas tentaram várias outras formações mas só nos anos 90 Martha com as suas Vandellas voltaram a rodar pelo país.

After the success of the Marvelettes, Motown launched a new girl’s group, that already had tried and failed, as the Del-Phis. What’s in a name? Only Shakespeare can answer this one. The powerful voice of Martha Reeves finally hit the spot with the classic Dancing In The Street, soon to be recorded by the Mamas and Papas. After they left Motown, they tried a series of formations but only in the 90’s Martha and her Vandellas started to hit the road again.
