Este russo não se conformava com a rigidez clássica dos espetáculos teatrais e mudou o profundamente a ópera e o ballet, cercando-se dos maiores criadores do século vinte. Ele era mais do que um empresário, era um sonhador. Acreditava na excelência dos detalhes, concretizando uma vastíssima obra ao dar voz à arte de coreógrafos, dançarinos, pintores, compositores e libretistas. Pode-se afirmar que a modernidade nasceu da sua capacidade de entender os gênios, sendo ele mesmo um deles.
This Russian wouldn’t comply with the classical harshness of the theatrical culture and profoundly changed both opera and ballet, surrounded by the greatest creators of the twentieth century. He was far more than an impresario, he was a dreamer. He believed on the excellence of the details, rendering concrete the most extensive work giving voice to the art of choreographers, dancers, painters, composers and writers. We could affirm that modernity was born through his capacity to understand geniuses, being one, himself.
