Já temos os elementos para um mundo novo totalmente criado em computador, interativo, capaz de analisar e manter na memória as modificações feitas pelos usuários. Haverá interação com outros humanos? Será isto realmente desejável? Ou haverá um misto de carne e osso com a inteligência artificial? Como os governos lidarão com a ausência mental dos cidadãos? As pessoas não vivem de alimento virtual, pagam impostos, gastam energia, ainda que o outro lado possa fornecer tudo gratuitamente. Um favelado pode morar num barraco de verdade e ao mesmo tempo ser o senhor do mais rico palácio virtual. Mas a indústria não está aqui para analisar ninguém.
We have all elements to build a new world fully programmed, interactive, and capable to analyze and maintain the changes made by users. Will it be interactive with other humans? Do we need this? Or shall it be a blend of flesh and bones with artificial intelligence? How will governments deal with mental absence of their citizens? People can’t eat virtual food, they are supposed to pay taxes, spend energy, even though the other side may offer everything free. The poorest Guy might live in a real shack and yet be the lord of the most sumptuous virtual palace. But Industry isn’t here to act as a head shrink.
Haverá uma Googleland, com teatros oferecendo peças musicais em que o usuário poderá escolher sempre o assento e até mudar de lugar durante o espetáculo. Isto custará muitíssimo menos do que usar um teatro de verdade. Os ensaios podem ser abertos para aumentar o desejo de comprar um ingresso, sem que para isso tenha de viajar, hospedar-se, se deslocar, enfrentar filas, suportar vizinhos barulhentos e o problema de disputar um taxi na saída. A sensação de estar de verdade no evento será fornecida pelos sensores. O usuário poderá olhar para um canto do palco ou para o outro, ou para a orquestra.
It is certain to exist a future Googleland, with theaters offering musicals where the user may choose his seat and even change seats during the show. This will cost lots less than a real life theater. Rehearsals can be followed to increase the desire to buy a ticket, saving money to travel, rent a hotel room, move in dark streets, face long lines, not to mention noisy seat neighbors and the old problem of disputing a taxi at the end. The sensation of being there at the event shall be provided by the sensors. The user is free to look wherever he wants: look to one corner of the stage, or the orchestra.
As peças serão estreladas por atores reais no começo. Mas logo depois alguns elencos impossíveis podem ser escolhidos pelo usuário, pois os atores virtuais podem fazer qualquer coisa, alcançar qualquer nota, usando o mesmo padrão vocal dos artistas ao vivo. Então, poderemos assistir Groucho Marx cantando em dueto com Madonna, por exemplo, I Could Have Danced All Night. Eu ia dizer Groucho e Sinatra, mas já foi feito;
Plays will be starred by real actors at first. But then impossible casts may be chosen by the user, since virtual players can do anything, reach any note, using the same voice pattern of the living counterparts. So, we’ll be able to watch Groucho Marx singing a duet with Madonna, say, I Could Have Danced All Night. I was going to write Groucho and Sinatra, but this has been done.
Googleland terá bairros para cada época e mesmo reinos fantásticos, como num jogo sem objetivos específicos. Pessoas com gostos semelhantes podem viver na mesma comunidade e o usuário nunca saberá se está se relacionando com alguém vivo ou programado. A inteligência artificial saberá criar personalidades positivas e mesmo reconhecer assédios, transformando uma provocação numa frase que o outro está esperando ouvir. No próximo capítulo falaremos sobre os parques temáticos do futuro.
Googleland will offer sections of any epoch and even fantastic kingdoms, like a game without specific objectives. People with compatible tastes may live in the same community and the user may never know if he is relating with a living friend or a programmed one. Artificial intelligence shall create positive personalities and recognize harassment, transforming na attack in a phrase the other one is expecting to listen.
